Another successful Golf Day on Thursday 1st November 2012 at Rye Hill Golf Club.
Commencing with bacon baps and coffee to get the golfers in the mood, a total of 14 teams of 56 players tee’d off in the most atrocious weather. With nearest the pin, longest drive and the prestigious Wellers Cup to the overall winner as incentives the teams braved the elements in a shotgun start of Texas Scramble.
Along the way the Charity Hole (12th) had the golfers digging in to their pockets to see if they could hit the green with their first shot. An amazing £356.50 was raised on this one hole to be donated to Chamber member charities Age Concern, BYHP and Dogs for the Disabled.
The winners of the Longest drive and Nearest the Pin were the following:-
Longest Drive Malcolm Nutt of Berry Morris
Nearest the Pin Jamie Briggs of Jamie Briggs Removals & Storage Ltd
