1.How long has Chilli Promotional Products been members of the Chamber?
Since 2009… pretty much since Chilli Promotional Products was formed.
2.What are the major benefits for your company being members of the Chamber?
I see the major benefits as the networking opportunities, free of charge seminars, succinct information on relevant topics in the local area, and the economy as a whole and also the value of the increased profile in the local business community.
3. Brief background of the company.
I set Chilli Promotional Products up as a sole trader in the summer of 2008 when I saw a niche to combine my marketing qualifications (Degree from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne) and experience with a strong emphasis on providing excellent customer service. Chilli Promotional Products is a distributor of branded marketing products and corporate gifts. This means I can source all types of marketing merchandise, corporate clothing, event giveaway’s, awards etc for use in Marketing campaigns, Direct Mail, at Events, as Gifts for Staff & Customers ….. you get the idea! My passion is for providing first class customer service and growing the business through referrals and recommendations. A large proportion of business comes through word of mouth and networking. I am really proud of my client base which includes major household brands, Universities, Schools, NHS and Local Authorities as well as with lots of small local businesses and get enormous satisfaction out of helping organisations, both large and small, achieve their objectives.
4.Within the company what is your role?
I am the founder of the business, and as of 1st April this year the Managing Director as I have just incorporated the business due to continued growth. In reality, this still means I do pretty much everything…. And I love the variety that brings! I enjoy the thrill of being a sales person, the creativity involved in creating visuals so the customer can see how their logo will look on a specific product and ultimately, as the business owner, it’s always satisfying to do the invoices and accounts and see the rewards coming in for all the hard work.
5. What are the main things going on in your company at the moment?
Having just incorporated the emphasis is on continuing the growth of the business, while ensuring I also fit in plenty of time with Chilli Baby who is growing up quickly! I am particularly enjoying working with some University and School customers at the moment so this is an area I am hoping to develop over the coming months.
6. Do you think the business environment in Banbury is thriving?
It certainly appears to be! I have noticed a lot more confidence in the economy over the last 9 months or so, both locally and nationally and this can only be good news for Banbury. It’s great to see the business park developments such as the new (ish) one on Overthorpe Road and thinking of the employment opportunities these will bring. I hope to see the old Hella and Alcan sites on the Southam Road developed soon and hope that the development of Castle Quay will bring visitors to the town who will venture out of the development and experience all the lovely businesses in the Old Town.
