If your business is looking to recruit new talent, upskill or reskill workers, OxLEP’s European Social Funded Skills for Business Programme can help. It provides up to 12 hours of training and development consultancy, worth the equivalent of £1800, free of charge.
The support could range from advising businesses on assistance with understanding and brokering apprenticeships, the Kickstart Placement Scheme, recruitment, retention and upskilling of staff, work placements, assisting businesses with developing processes and documentation or signposting to relevant services.
How the programme works:
Step 1) Contact the team to express interest and complete an engagement form.
Step 2) To fully understand your business and its skills needs, you will have the opportunity to complete a ‘Skills Needs Assessment’ (SNA) with a member of the team. This is done through a meeting with our Business Skills Officer and usually lasts up to 1.5hrs.
Step 3) We will provide you with relevant information & make introductions to organisations based on SNA findings, all detailed in a bespoke training and development report and plan. For example: leadership and management workshops, training and development opportunities for current staff and information on how to take on an Apprentice. The report will also include the latest labour market intelligence on staffing patterns, skills, qualifications, salaries etc in your industry/ area.
Step 4) We will continue to provide you with 1:1 support to help your business achieve its skills, training and development goals up to a maximum of 12 hours.
Martin Graves, Managing Director of Bicester Business CARMS says:
“We see OxLEP Skills for Business as an integral part of our business development. That’s what we’re using them for.”
If you could benefit from the support like Martin did, contact Katie Willis, Skills for Business Programme Executive.
