The George Inn is a charming 17th Century thatched pub and guesthouse in Barford St Michael, not far from Oxford on the edge of the Cotswolds.
Following a complete refurbishment in 2017 and now under new ownership and management, The George Inn brings to life the true essence of a country pub, serving a broad variety of delicious food. Our head chef has created a variety of dishes that focus on local, sustainable and, above all, quality ingredients. From classic pub dishes and traditional Sunday roasts, to new favourites with a modern twist, there’s something delicious for every taste. To slake a thirst, we offer a range of local ales alongside more familiar brand names and a well-stocked wine cellar.
The George Inn’s main dining room opens right out on to a delightful York stone terrace and gardens with stunning views of the River Swere valley and far beyond.
We also have a private dining room with large yet discrete presentation screen for meetings and conferences while the room is also available for sporting events, children’s parties, shooting lunches and rowdy celebrations too!
The George Inn also has six well-appointed double bedrooms separate from the main house and three further bedrooms, two doubles and one single, above the bar and dining room.
