The Banbury & District Chamber of Commerce is looking for passionate, committed individuals to join our Board in key volunteer roles. Board members play an active and advisory role, helping to steer Chamber strategy, support members, and champion the local economy. 

You must be able to attend meetings where possible and contribute to initiatives that align with your role.

Charity & Social Impact Lead 

Help us give back to Banbury. 

This role champions the Chamber’s charitable partnerships and ensures our events support and contribute meaningfully to the local community. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Strengthen links with local charities and community organisations 

  • Coordinate fundraising efforts across Chamber events 

  • Identify and promote volunteering and CSR opportunities for members 

  • Align charitable activity with Chamber values 


Works closely with: Events, Membership Engagement, Communications, Sustainability 

Sustainability & Responsible Business Lead 

Promote greener, fairer business. 

This role drives the Chamber’s sustainability agenda and helps support members to adopt more responsible, forward-thinking practices. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Champion sustainability across the local business network 

  • Lead involvement in regional campaigns and awards 

  • Support ESG and social value development among members Position Banbury as a responsible business hub

Works closely with: Events, Communications, Charity Lead, Sector Leads 

Manufacturing & Industry Sector Lead 

Be a voice for Banbury’s makers. 

This role represents the manufacturing, engineering, and industrial sectors, ensuring their needs and challenges are heard and addressed. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Engage with local manufacturers and industry partners 

  • Advocate for sector-specific challenges and solutions 

  • Offer insight into manufacturing trends and issues 

  • Promote Banbury as a business-friendly industrial hub 

Works closely with: Business Support, Skills & Education, Events, Membership Engagement 

Education, Skills & Future Talent Lead 

Support the next generation of local talent. 

This role links the Chamber with local education providers and helps close the skills gap through collaboration and engagement. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Build partnerships with schools, colleges, and training providers 

  • Promote apprenticeships, upskilling, and career pathways 

  • Support employer engagement in education            

  • Champion Banbury as a great place to work and grow 

Works closely with: Business Support, Manufacturing Lead, Membership Engagement, Events
