Broughton Castle Sportive Returns with New 200km Challenge for 2025

Now in its 13th year, the Broughton Castle Sportive returns on Sunday, 29 June 2025, inviting cyclists of all levels to take on one of five stunning routes through the North Cotswolds — all in support of local charities.
This year introduces the 200km Cotswold Monster: a brand-new endurance route for experienced riders looking for a serious challenge. It’s tough, scenic, and incredibly rewarding.
Riders can also choose from four other distances — 5 miles, 40km, 100km, and 160km — each starting and finishing in the historic grounds of Broughton Castle, just outside Banbury.
What makes the Sportive unique is its heart. It’s a volunteer-led, not-for-profit event that raises vital funds for Banbury-based charities and community groups, including Katharine House Hospice, Dogs for Good, the Scouts, Girl Guides, and many more.
Local support makes it all possible.
We're proud to be backed by brilliant local businesses like TuGo, Norbar, ProDrive, Finders Keepers, Mail Boxes Etc., and gHawk Accounting, as well as generous supporters like Banbury Charities, who help fund, sponsor, and strengthen the event — ensuring it's smooth, welcoming, and memorable for every rider.
Included with every ride:
- Fully signed routes with chip timing
- Feed stations, mechanical & medical support
- Hot meal and finisher’s medal
This is more than a ride — it’s a celebration of community, challenge, and doing something that matters.
